MAF Installation

I'm about to install a new MAF.

Do the wires in the MAF face the engine, or away from the engine?

Do I need to disconnect the battery before installing to clear the Christmas Tree like array of lights on my dash, prior to installing the MAF?

The open end and round nub (where the air passes through) faces out towards the engine

No need... just don't start the car until it's hooked up is all...
