Should I replace my coilpacks?
Getting big turbos and everything put on right away here.
Should I replace my coilpacks with some fresh 997's? Or just inspect mine to make sure they are still good?

I'm in, I'll say if you have more than 30k miles you have cracks. I've never even seen my coils but I bought a new set. This is my third Porsche and third time buying coils. I found them for 250.00 shipped by the way.
Do it. At last service I asked for coils to be changed. They didn't do it and told me there was no need. 3 months later on a really horrible wet damp day and after I washed my car one coil started to play up and one cylinder was down for good 5 minutes. I am changing all at next service interval.

OK then, where did you get your coils? Thanks.
Take them out and look at them when the engine is out for the turbos. If they have cracks or signs of wear, then yes. Also, since you already have the engine out you will save labor, so you may want to replace them anyway.

I checked my coils when I changed spark plugs last year and they all looked good so I just left them in. Since I do the work myself, I figured there was no sense throwing money at something that wasn't broken. If I were paying a mechanic to do the work I might think otherwise since it's about 4 hours labor they charge to do a plug change and that would be expensive if you had to pay that amount twice if they had to go back in. If you are doing the work yourself then I guess its up to you how much your time is worth if you potentially have to go back at some point later. I guess I don't value my time that much or maybe I just enjoy working on the car
