Help with Cel's & P1501 & P1507
has anyone here had issues with ( or ) replaced the wheel speed sensors? i don't want to start by just replacing parts and it *could* just be a loose or frayed connection. i'm getting intermittent cels and abs/psm lights. the code P0501 says it's the wheel speed sensor, but i'm also getting P1507 which seems to have to do with "high idle" which i also have periodically ( it "hunts" occasionally and briefly.. up to 1k then back to 750/800 rpm then settles back down ).
although they seem to be unrelated(?) they are the intermittent codes i get. i think i have frayed or fried sensor wheel speed up front. if anyone knows or has experience with these codes or issues. the search function yields little. any help?? TIA. |

TIA. P1507 - Throttle jacking unit, gain adjustment, signal implausible. Possible causes DME control module faulty. Replace DME control module. The other error code I think is an artifact arising from the primary problem related to the throttle jacking unit/DME. In the case of P1501/P1507 any chance the wiring harness got damaged during some engine work/engine service? What was done to the car recently? Any chance rodents have been at the car? I'd not replace the DME control module without first ensuring there's no other cause, and a cheaper (possibly) cause to fix. This might be a job for a shop (dealer?) with access to an up to date PST2/PIWIS/PIWIS2 and the knowledge to use it to pinpoint the cause of the error codes. Sincerely, Macster. |

Sincerely, Macster. thanks macster. edit: yes.. wiring harness could've been damaged, which is why i suspect a frayed wire or connection but thinking at one of the wheel speed sensors. dme issue is my worst nightmare... |
