Not here to debate tune or tuners...

Just wondering if anyone here has a stock clutch and a UMW tune? I'm curious to know if I should plan for a clutch...

Will last about a month. I was easy with my car & got about 30 days before the clutch started slipping.

One month sucks...

I bet there are hundreds of threads on clutches, but what is the usual go to clutch kit if/when I need a new one?

I have an epl stage 2 flash and exhaust for well over a year now with a stock clutch. no problems, and there definetly is some spirit driving in there as well. Plus it's my daily driver.

UMW tune, 91 and 100 octane; stock clutch, couple of years

Depends on how stupid you drive...pretty simple actually. I could kill it if I wanted.

If you ask UMW, they will say no.

However, the stock clutch is supposed to hold 600 ft-lb of torque, so in theory, if your clutch is in good shape, you should be OK.

I have a new stock clutch and an EPL tune and so far so good. However, I do sometimes feel like it does slip a little if I shift fast and hard.

If I had the budget, I would've upgraded my clutch, flywheel, and the slave.

The stock clutch on my X50 wasn't strong enough for the car. With a tune, definitely not strong enough!

Vivid sells a Clutchmasters kit with a modded pressure plate that I finally decided on after EXTENSIVE research. They also offer a LWFW that's heavier than the Sachs version so it doesn't chatter as much.

When I spoke with Kevin on the phone he told me that it's a very real possibility. He said he even sees some K16 flashed cars roasting clutches.

I'm holding off on flash + exhaust for now until I know I also want to pay for a new clutch and labor on top of it.
