Question Why Porsche does not race TURBO cars ?

Yesterday i saw in SPEED last race of FIA GT1 World Championship. The race was won by a Corvette ZO6 and "the World Championship by a GT-R" ,mate black-nice,the GT-R won the second place at the race.

GT-R are turboed cars as i understand,if i'm mistaken please correct me.So if Nissan race turbo cars WHY Porsche does not do it ??.I'm soory,no ofense, the GT3 are slow.

Porsche, like every other manufacturer, is limited by the rules of the series they are racing in, and most don't allow turbochargers.

Historically Porsche have dominated to such an extent that rule makers have strangled turbo cars-- so Porsche have promoted na cars.

It is just too easy for such teams with big money to build a 1000hp car with turbos so that would get too dangerous, this is why most series rule out the turbos.

Complete domination of porsche if the rule makers allow it.

I imagine it would be difficult to get everyone to follow the rules in a series that allows turbos. With boost controllers you could easily get extra power by the push of a button.

The vast majority of Porsche's championships and race wins have come at the hands of turbocharged vehicles. Only two of Porsche's 16 wins at Le Mans were naturally aspirated. (70 and 71)

RSR, 934, 935, 936, 956, 962, GT1... The list goes on.

I would also bet that most of Porsche street racing victory's were at the hands of turbos as well

Porsche used to be more agresive at races, now they go little step by little step 3.6-3.8-4.0 by this time, long ago, they would have been 5.0 L. with 650+ HP on GT3 RSR.

I hate to see when Porsche got beeten, and now anyone does.

F1 should go back to the turbocharged days. With the world and car manufacturers pushing for extreme efficiency these days, the amount of money that would be put into R&D of turbocharged F1 cars would sure benefit everyone.

Look at BMW's currently. The only non-turbocharged car in their ENTIRE lineup is the current M3, which is going to be replaced very soon, and by that completing BMW's move to only turbocharged cars.

I agree, though at those power levels (1500hp from a 1.5L turbo) you're not really being anymore efficient which is the where the current technology is trending.

still awesome though. I love the throttle body mounted directly on the turbo inlet
