Crystal Cove Memorial ride

this morning was incredible. Phenomenal; historic. Must have been 100 cars at the Irvine Starbucks! I was blown away. (Crystal Cove was so packed that there was no parking left. As a result, I headed home. There were a hundred(s) people welcoming us into Crystal Cove. Just standing there watching 100 cars (mostly porsches) drive in.)

A Thanks to all the good people that welcomed me this morning. Very nice visiting and chatting.

RIP Ben. You are remembered.

I am probably exagerating some - but not much. Many pictures. I'll post mine when I resize them and make sure tags are brushed out.

That is great.

He deserved it.

turn out was amazing, I did half of the drive w/ them and then ducked out home before they finished up at Fashion Island.

I know Ben has a huge grin on his face right now.

HotRodGuy that picture is amazing, wish I could have been part of the ride. I'm sure it's something none of you will ever forget.

Come on guys where's all the rest of the pics I'm dying to see them.

996 MPH 06-05-2005 11:46 AM

Please be patient with the pics. Most of the group went onto a memorial drive/cruise with a breakfast gathering to follow in newport beach. I myself wasn't able to attend the post vigil activity. I'm sure there will be multiple threads with pics of the entire event real soon.

I'm still overwhelmed with such a large 6speedonline gatheing. it is always great to see many new and old friends.

Mark

should we make it an annual memoriol meet?

TTM0TION 06-05-2005 12:57 PM

I wish I lived on the west coast so I could attend all your meets especially this one. I think making this an annual event would only add the honor of Ben Keaton. Mabye it's time for me to relocate?

every meet from now on will be in memory of Ben

But definately an annual meet will be done, I think it'd be neat if we were able to have multiple ones across the country on the same day.

Well the meet was absolutely fantastic, very moving as well to see how many people showed up. Made it to starbucks by 6:40 and there were already atleast 60 or so porsche's, ferraris, a lambo, and of course our lonely mustang. The cruise over to CC was great, we definetly made an entrance, came by once got everyones attention, then we all pulled Uturns and entered the parking lot with everyones attention on us. The words that were spoken at the meet were very moving, you see yourself looking around and noticing alot of people holding back tears, at one point I was doing the same. An experience I will never soon forget.....
