Question Rear view and left side mirrors think it's night time?

I read up on mirror failures but most people seemed to be talking about the thing failing and leaking awful fluid everywhere. Their symptoms were a blurry or foggy look to the rearview mirror and even a smell in some cases.

For me the rearview mirror and left side mirror have been going very dark during the day lately. This can be remedied by clicking the "auto" button on the rearview and turning the function off and then back on again. Should I be worried about this and is it a side effect of parking my car outside rather than in the garage recently?

No worries! You were probably thinking of Paul's car.
