Dyno Tune, Speedtech Exhaust, 463 Miles

Chad and I made the drive today from NH to EPL in CT to watch and video a custom dyno tune with one of our SpeedTech X-cellerator 2.5 catless "RACE" X-Flow exhausts, K16 billet turbos and EPL custom dyno tune. It was a long day, got up at 3am and started driving at 4am - arrived around 8:30am at EPL in CT. We spent a few hours talking and videoing and took a few pictures. It started raining very hard, flash flood warnings posted everywhere, so we headed out and drove back to NH - in a torrential downpour the entire way.

The 996TT handled the heavy rain at high speed with phenomenal ease. After dropping Chad off at the office in NH (430 miles driven so far), I headed home - an additional 33 miles of back road country driving. After 430 miles in the car and still loving it, the best was yet to come. The 996TT devoured the soaked back roads like they were dry pavement. I found myself not wanting the ride to end! Even after 463 miles of rain driving! I took a slightly longer, twisty route to the house and finally pulled in around 7:30PM, still not wanting the ride to end, 15 1/2 hours after leaving. These cars are absolutely phenomenal in the rain - I have always felt that way and today just reinforced it again. It's been a fairly dry year so far and I lost touch with wet weather driving. What a wet weather machine and fantastic product these cars are...!

After all that, it turns out the video camera failed (it was working last night) and although we were recording and pausing on the screen the whole time, nothing went on the tape, so all we ended up with are a few still photos. Oh, well....it was a great drive and we hung out with our friends at EPL for a while.

Here is a picture from today - I had hoped to post a video, but it was not meant to be...the combination of the SpeedTech Exhaust and the Alpha 28 turbos sounded fantastic - I wish I could share it. I think the owner will be very pleased when he gets his car back!

If anyone is interested in a SpeedTech Exhaust & EPL tune bundle or stand alone product, please contact either Chad or myself. Video next time....

Great work, Chad! I thought we came back empty handed...

This is a 2.5 "Catless" RACE exhaust - really nice sound on this configuration!

dmilzoff is on a distinguished road
John
I am pretty sure that this is my car (there aren't too many turbos with a trailer hitch) and I know that they were dyno testing my car yesterday.
It has new Hancook tires which should have been great in the rain.
This car has only K16G Billet Turbos, not Alpha 28s!
I can't wait to get my car back to try out your exhaust and EPL's tune!

PS. I guess that I will be changing my signature below very soon.

Hi David,

Yes, it is your car. For some reason I thought Tony said A28's...Anyhow, it's shaping up nicely. Nice looking Car!

I have the HanKook Tires and I never thought about that - they are a year old and the rears approaching replacement. We were travelling between 60-80 MPH with deep pockets of standing water on I95 and the car was rock solid. The rain was coming down so hard the road could not shed it fast enough...it was quite a wet weather tire test :-)

Guys,

This is a customer car, so we (SpeedTech) will not receive a copy of the final dyno. I do know the car is not finished tuning yet and from hearing Davids comments (David is the owner of the car), it seems the tuneable power has to be reduced due to the clutch slipping. The car has K16 billet turbos, turbo inlet pipes and cat bypass "RACE" pipes - too much for the clutch!
