Upgrading my turbo's

Hi there, my name is Andy, from South Africa and I have a 911 turbo (996tt).
I recently did various modifications to my car (with the help of Mark from 911 Tuning) and put in K16 billet turbo's and intake from him.
I also put in DV's as well as AP intercoolers and throttle body.
But now I have decided to upgrade to the Tail 3076s turbo's (via Mark too) so looking forward to that.
Andy

Nice Andy! I'm still hoping to make the jump to something like K16 billets in the future so you're way ahead. I hope you're enjoying every mile!

Thanks Steve ;)

oh no its not ski 850! i wish!!!

with the 3076 you will max out the stock engine anyway on racegas, depends where you are going to stop, but I tell you there will be no end for this....

the ski850 uses just a bit more powerful turbos, but you will need modified headers for external WGs too

Just use 3076 @1.55bar on stock engine and you will be fine, at least for some time.
I am doing a basic build for my engine to move up to 1.8 or 2.0 bar depending on the fuel system I am going to end with

Good luck.... with either of them, if going to build the engine, than maybe ski850 might be sligtly the better choice imho

just make sure to do it right from the beginning to avoid future problems, Markski will help you out with that, he is the tuner to have

I don't want to go bigger where i have to do an engine build - but thanks,
what do you think I will make on pump gas with the 3076's?
And my supporting mods

The K16 Billets (and 1 bar WG) will be for sale once I get my upgraded turbos (they have 2000 miles on them)

Cool T Nov 1, 2012 10:25 AM

I sent pm regarding sale of k16's- lmk when & how much.

Thx

You will not need modified headers and external WGs if you use the Tial Alpha 3076s.

Hi,Thats why I am looking to go to Tial Alpha 3071s now over the 3076s..
It never ends and with the 3076s it can go further and the stock motor can be the weak link..:)
Good Luck..

You will love the turbos.... :)

Andy Garcia Nov 1, 2012 02:14 PM

@Cool T - yes I got it, but haven't been on the forum long enough to send PM's back - tell me what you would offer me?
@JohnSpeed - thanks so much
@Markski - I am so excited - when can I expect them?????
