I first stage torque to 65ftlbs. Then torque to 100ftlbs. I am aware that the factory spec is 96 but with most torque wrenches tolerance at four percent I want to be sure they are at least 96.

Basic torque wrench proceedures:

-Final torque of 96ftlbs
-Always ensure wheel and lugs are seated before torquing. Suggested two step torque recommended, but best to do initial torque of about 50% of final torque(45-60 ftlbs)
-Most important, ALWAYS complete final torque in one swing. This is because if you make a swing and don't reach the final torque, the breakaway torque to get the stud/nut moving again can exceed the final torque setting on the wrench and the head will click off as soon as you try to torque to the final spec again. This leads to an under torqued fastener. If this happens, back the lug off and torque again from the start.

When Tourquing it's important to go back and forth across the wheel rather than tightening sequentially around the wheel.
