Gt2 Small Boost Leak

Hello!

I was wondering if it is possible that my gt2 has a small boost leak. I haven't got any CEL lights about low pressure, but my car doesn't hit the bar I thought it was supposed to.

I live in the seattle area which is always around the 50s(f) in the winter.

On WOT my gt2 makes it to .8 bar at the end of the pull (5-6k rpm) but usually sits around .7bar. Occationally I get a spike to .9bar.

Is this a normal boost pressure?

Thanks

Edit: This is my car BTW: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...re-wheels.html

.8 or peaks of .9 was all i ever saw on my stock 24's. sounds about right, absent other issues.

When my X-50 car was stock, it was most of the time seeing .8 and when cold .9

Would the dash read a lower bar under WOT if there was a leak?

possibly. but you ( presumably ) don't have boost levels below "normal" for a stock gt2. not if you see numbers as you've described.

your fine stop worrying... if the car holds .6 bar then you should consider looking into it...

You have a problem... Its called small turbo syndrome... You can live with it or address it and begin to live your life a little more on the wild side.. At least you took the step to identify the problem.

Well from what I've read you have a problem aswell... Its called huge turbo syndrome. I'm hopeing to get a little bit of both.

I think my goal is about 600 crank HP to start out.. Probably will just start out with a K24/18g billet upgrade running off a 5bar fpr and then go from there.

Doin' it in steps. ;)

as i remember my stock gt2 boost was at 1,0 bar at high load/ 0,9 all the time

Do you know what kind of miles he has on them?

Are they billet?

Tim from NYC - you took the words right out of my mouth - small turbo syndrome! We all started there.

add some injectors, and good 3 inch exhaust, dv, and a proto tune, you'll be much happier. for now;)
