my new KW3's installed will most of the goodies
just have to share my new ride experience. i have been building my car for about 2 years now and finely bit the bullet on coil overs.. never wanted to set records, just wanted a high end porsche, with quality parts.. not some monster that keeps needing something... thanks BBI!!! they really don't sell you parts just to make money, they sell you their experience and what you need for YOUR car.... what a difference coil overs made. the car now rides like a porsche should. i just let them do it the way it should be done and i am so happy with the looks, and the ride. haven't pushed it yet, but that's soon to come... for anyone that thinks that coil overs are too much, for me, there perfect. i thought it was going to be a go-cart feel, but instead i got the feeling of a real machine... if that make any sense??? almost done with this car, and time to look for something else.... cheers !!!!

Congratulations....
I have talked to Joey about the same mod a few months back. I was so excited. Yet I am still waiting for the fund. Wish I can see what it is like.. |
thanks man! if you like i could meet up with you so you can feel what it drives like?

Nice Mike, glad the v3s are working for you. Doing it once right is the way to go. Enjoy your machine!

Thanks Mike. PM sent.

Just curious , what settings do you have the KWs set at?
Are you using the KW drop links or something else ? |
not surprised with KWs. Very solid suspension
|
@TT the settings are on the stiff side. drop links are not KW... I think garrett? I'll check..
|
I bought the KWV3 kit also (from Vivid. Thanks Adam!). Anyhoo, how necessary are the other bits (toe links, drop links, control arms, etc). Will the kit work without the other bits and work well?
|
yes. the KW3's will help with the ride. however, if you want the true performance of what you have, you should add other parts as well. my car rides like a race car at high speeds with a stiff ride, and feels goods at street speeds.. the labor is right there, and with our cars being cab's, we need as much as possible to keep our cars from swaying do to the added weight... like i wrote, i was worried that it would be to stiff, and it is not.. i am going to learn how to adjust them on my own so i can soften them up when i drive long distance... thats the + of the Kw!!! good luck

Great choice.

Did you get sway bars? To me I think that made the biggest difference.

ran out of $ for the sway bars, but will add when i take it back in.... the cost of all the parts, plus labor, is a hyundai...

Do you mean the sway bars in addition to the Coilovers' or did you mean that sway bars alone made the biggest difference!
