I went back to stock springs from H&R's.
I thought some might benefit from my experience with H&R springs and going back to the stock springs.
When I bought my car it had H&R lowering springs on it. I was pretty disappointed with the handling. The car never let me forget it was a rear engined car with a lot of weight in the back. I knew it wasn't going to feel just like my Z06 but also knew this couldn't be right. I decided I would try going to the OE springs before spending the money on coilovers. After the installation and an alignment I took it to my favorite secluded and twisty road I use to benchmark. MUCH better feel, much more balanced. The front end isn't quite as firm as before but I can deal with it. The rear just feels more planted with less movement. I miss the lowered look but I am more about function over form. I will likely go to a good coilover one day but for now this will make me much more comfortable with the car. |
