New- to-me 05 911 Turbo S Cab
Hey everybody. I just traded my 11 Spyder for an 05 Turbo S Cabriolet. It is Polar Silver Metallic with Metropol Blue interior, 6 speed. I saw it and fell in love! She only has 19k miles, one owner car. I purchased the car from the original dealership from where it was new. PPI was excellent with only one minor issue (burnt out signal bulb). I got a very fair offer for the Spyder and this car was very aggressively priced. I also bought a warranty 4/48k for $3000. I loved my Spyder but this car is really something else. I can't get over the torque and acceleration in every gear at any speed. I was always defending my Boxster purchase but secretly wishing it was just a Spyder and not a "Boxster" Spyder...even debadged everything "Boxster." This 911 is my dream car and I'm so excited to read through all of the 996 threads and get to know all there is to know about my new baby and get to know all of you! Already ordered clear corner lenses, Luxe mats, and bumper plugs...wheels soon. Jay

Congrats and welcome to the club.
I just came home from a drive in my 2004tt cab. Am going out again to hit the back roads as soon as lunch is finished.
These cars are definitely addictive!

Welcome!
I just turned 24K miles on my '04 Turbo Cab, love it!
Just turned 25K miles on wife's '99 Boxster. The Boxster is a fantastic car in its own right. I wish my Turbo had the light and nimble feel of it. The AWD feels trucky by comparison, especially going full tilt in the canyons.
Enjoy!

Wow! You bought the Great White Buffalo...super low miles for a 2001! I wasn't too sure about the metropol blue interior but I'm happy with it after spending the day in it. And of course the polar silver is amazing in the sun. I will post pics tomorrow, today was all about driving.

Well, Jay as the new owner of your Spyder---I love it. But, I hate to say that you'll be defending the 996T to other 911 Turbo owners as well after a while. I sold my 996 Turbo to buy the Spyder. When I had my 996T the other Turbo guys were always slamming it as the "cheap" Turbo that was the "red-headed step child" in between the 993 and the 997. So, that stuff never stops. Trust me. I just tune it out. The 996T is an amazing car, but you'll get flack from the older air-cooled guys about it being an "inferior" car. I had it happen to me a couple times. Porsche people can be very touchy about their cars! Just enjoy it. Mine put out about 500 ft/lbs of torque and was very fast...almost too fast for local back roads:-)
Sounds like we both have new rides to enjoy for the summer. I have a coat of Zanio going on the Spyder next week.

I'm not too worried about negative comments from the owners of newer 911's. This car is exactly what I wanted. I loved the open top driving with the Spyder but it didn't have enough power when I needed it. And the ****pit was a little tight for me. I think the Turbo S has eveything i need and want and the polar silver with blue top makes it unique enough that i wont see any where i live. You will love my old Spyder. She is super clean with no issues. Hit me up if you want the custom Lloyd mats and Tequipment cover!
