No it is not a shallow goal. A lot of Porsche owners have saved and saved to finally get one.

"fancy watches, boats, mansions, large houses, or anything that goes with owning a 911" none of these "goes with" owning a Porsche, what goes with owning a Porsche is the love for the history and the car. I know pleanty of Porsche owners who are average people who worked hard to get one.

Man, it is all up to you and your priorities. What is it worth to you? Nobody here knows your priorities and personal principles. Anyone with financial priorities will say,"Don't go in debt when buying a car."

Others will say,"Purchase a car after you have ~6 months of income."

Others might say,"Damn the economy! You only live once. Get the Porsche now, if you run into financial difficulties, you can start your own recovery plan by selling the car. Enjoy it while you can."

I don't respect people based on what material things they have or how much money they have. And you can't assume because someone has a Porsche they don't have savings, 401K, or investments.
