Question Any issue putting stock front tire on 8" OEM twist after being on custom 8.5" wheel?

I am considering picking up some stock twists and trying to sell my HREs to free up some cash. Is there any problem taking a tire from an 8.5" wheel in the front to the stock 8"? I wanted to check with the braintrust here to see what you had to say before I call the wheel shop (they're closed by now anyway).

Depends on tire and size, but typically folks upsize tires on stock twists. Report back with tire type/size.

I'm running stock Michelin PS2 225/40ZR18 on 8.5" front wheels and just want to double check that they can now safely go onto an 8" wheel. I'm assuming it's fine, but want to know if there are any potential safety issues I'm not aware of.

Nope
I have run 225/40,235/40 and now 245/40 on my stock rims and stock suspension with no problems..

Thanks for the input. Perhaps I wasn't completely clear on my concerns. I was just making sure that the stock tire hadn't been "stretched" in any way on a wider rim that would make it unsuitable to be put back onto a narrower rim.

No, you're not stretching the tire on wheel width (unless you're doing the stupid stretched tire thing) so no worries. If they were coming off a 12" rim going on a 8" rim I'd say maybe not so much...
