Washing A V-Flow Equipped Car
 

Any tips on keeping the water out of the airbox and has anyone drilled out a drainage hole?

Be careful as water ingestion makes for a bad case of hiccups.

I cover the box with a plastic trash bag and rubber bands or you can cover the grill to avoid water inside the engine compartment.

I don't have a great idea...I just dry mine out each time with a P21S absorbing towel. About drilling a hole...the water doesn't accumulate in one place.

What do you do when it rains?

I actually don't do rain!

I just use some masking tape over the openings. There is a drain hole at the bottom of the intake, but I figure that I may be drenching the area accidentally so I use the masking tape. It works well enough.

I've never done anything with the intake. Either when washing or driving in the rain (horrors!!!). As soon as the engine gets warm, the little accumulation in the bottom of the intake quickly evaporates.

Ditto here with the oem intake.

But, if the aftermarket intake doesn't have any drain holes, and the car sits in the rain for a bit before starting, the intake tract could end up sitting in a fish tank! I'm sure the designers must have made provisions for drainage.
