Exact Location EVAP canister purge valve

Can someone direct me (with a picture if possible) to the exact location of the EVAP canister purge valve on a 996 TT?

Had the motor out for a number of things and I'm now getting a P0444 98 EVAP canister purge valve -open circuit fault code

Unless it's a wild coincidence, I'm pretty sure I left something unplugged.

I've read some conflicting things - some point to the valve at the carbon canister - some refer to a valve in the engine bay.

Any help would be appreciated. I'd rather locate it straight away as opposed to taking stuff apart until I find it,

Thanks,
Dave

Not exactly. I have the manual, the PET and all the diagrams.

What I really need is a confirmation of the location of the item associated with the fault code P0444 98 EVAP canister purge valve -open circuit for a 996 turbo.

You see there is no reference in the PET to an EVAP canister purge valve.

And the diagram you posted conflicts with the diagram for the same location in the PET.

Some also reference a valve in the engine bay.

Just looking for some definitive guidance

Wow, has it really been almost three years since I Did that work?

The answer is that I did leave it unplugged and it was definately in the engine bay.

If I remember correctly, it is at the top of the motor on the drivers side about three quarters of the way back towards the firewall. It is part of the evap piping that is clipped to the top of the engine bay. You can actually see the pipe (not the valve because it is back aways) with the engine lid open.
