Lost track of the thread and status. Did it die again ?

 

A vendor/board sponsor never materialized, Slider was working on getting someone to come on board, but that's the last I've heard...

... the LED tail-lights ended up in the 997.

 

Honestly, do we really care about LED taillights? lol.

 

I'd like them. Really the 996 looks like a car that could be much more recent than it is.

The only real piece of the car that dates it for me is the translucent old style tail lights.

 

IIRC they are going to produce them regardless of the group buy! We would of just had a fixed price and first dibs on them.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. A kickstarter.com project would be a very good way to organize this

IIRC cargym in HK agreed to make them but the prototype process was 6 months or so. So they are coming but aren't out as of now.

Crap happens and Slider went WAY out of his way to try to make this reality. Sounds like it is close, but may have to be off-line as politics seems to be the issue.

I would expect that manu to move forward and just sell them after they have them made, but that is my opinion. I certainly would with the response they got... You know after people post pics they will double that number easily.

Maybe I am just to logical and hopeful on the market, but with the rate our lights are falling apart an aftermarket solution would be right on time!

 

in spite of sliders best efforts..

my feeling is, and always has been.. if they haven't made them yet?.. don't count on it ever happening.
