Another Spoiler Issue Thread

Hey guys,
Ive searched and couldnt find any threads that had this issue.

So today I was out driving and realized that my spoiler was crooked.
I have a GT2 replica.
The spoiler goes up as it should but when you lower it, only the passenger side goes down.
If you apply light pressure it goes right down.
There is no light on the dash and no leaks.
Again, it goes up evenly with now issues.

The previous owner of the car said he had the unit replaced about a year ago.

Any ideas?

::::Update::::

Seems like the gasket was just dry.
I sprayed some white lithium grease on it and its all better now.

i don't know much about whether aftermarket wings cause any more stress upon the already dicey system? but i can say that in my limited experience, ALL uneven deployment ( up OR down ) can be traced to a low/uneven fluid level. this in spite of no obvious seep/leakage. if i were you, i would try to re-bleed or find an indy that has done them, before it fails completely. that's all you can expect will happen, if left as is.

I had that problem on my factory spoiler. Turned out that the pump motor was going bad and failing on one side.

Find out if it was replaced at the dealer as I was advised by Champion that factory parts have a 2 year warranty

Definitely check the pump. They can leak and you won't know it for awhile.

What ever you do, don't use it until you find your problem. There are several thing that can break when the spoiler is uneven.

Later, Steve

Based on this thread: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...cylinders.html

I'm thinking that there might be an issue with the rubber gasket around the cylinder and this has nothing to do with the hydraulics.
I'll see if I can grease the seal.
