talk of the 997tt pump in 996tt tank https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-limits-6.html, still no answer about GT2 tank=pump?, but based on this thread I'd bet a '7 GT2 pump fits a '6GT2 tank...??

i would go the walbro 450 pump - quite, smaller and fits great. Here is how Taboo and I did it. We used a stainless hose clamp, that we drilled and put a small bolt thru and then clamped around the pump. the bolt had two nuts, which then went thru the side of the basket and held the pump upright and centered like you can see in the photo.

I now see what you mean. The large coolant pipes do not fit between the body of the car and tank. The 996tt tank is narrower. I believe I have found a cure though. I chopped the end of the pipe towards front of car where it splits into 2 small horizontal pipes, rotated so they are vertical, and welded together. This allows the pipes to fit. Still need to re-route hoses but I think it should work.

It almost looks like you need to extend the pipe towards the frame rails for clearance too.
