Help...draining oil today, loosened 17mm bolt just in front of 15mm oil drain plug,

Help...draining oil today, loosened 17mm bolt just in front of 15mm oil drain plug,

Small amount of oil like fluid and spring came out. Reinstalled..what did I do? Was that oil draining out or another fluid?

Which bolt did you loosen? Open this link that shown how to do the oil change. It has good picture to go along with the description. Note that a lot of guys don't bother with the turbo plugs, since so little oil comes out.

directly in front of the oil drain plug in the center of the car, about 4 inches towards the front of the car from the oil drain plug

Sounds like oil relief valve or something.

What transmission do you have. The tip or stick shift. Could be the trans fill chech valve fill port.

put spring back in and tighten it up.

Its oil. It is a bypass.
