Welp...I took the plunge!. I sent in my headlamps to the retro fit source
I am going to have the evo-xr projectors installed with the zkw-r clear lens. I have already installed a pair of Osram Xenarc CBI's and was itching for a much more exotic color flicker. I will report back with pics in about 10 days!

funny.
i contacted a member in the 997 forum. he is going to do mine as well. $500-ish for a new lens, and 5000k bulb. cant wait to get it done. our cars 996 and 997 have crappy headlights compared to whats out now. |

Interested on results!!

After googling your first post, I learned a lot about the retrofit stuff. Surprising how many people are really into it! Anyways, cool stuff man - looking forward to seeing the results/impressions!
Would the CBIs be a plug and play without the lens/projector swap? OEM litronic bulb is a D1s, right? I hate to sound ricerish, but I like the blue color of the old bulbs in my car lol I'd like some better output though. Any chance you can put up some pictures with the white balance dialed in to a specific kelvin after the swap? |
Any update??

Pics and reviews coming up shortly. I'm still fine tuning and adjust them.

Very cool. I'd love to hear a full writeup on the 996 as far as options and reviews. Doesn't sound that expensive at all and very DIY'able. I love having better light b/c at night it makes all the difference.
