Need wheel opinions

I am having a custom wheel built soon and was wondering if anyone can shed a light on this one.

Would this measurements run into any problems ?

Front size: 19x8.5
offset: et 40mm
outer: 1.5"
Inner: 7"

Rear size: 19x12"
offset: et 45mm
outer: 4"
Inner: 8"

Thanks,

PN

PS: Jack LA, I tried calling you but had the wrong number! Could you PM me with your number again ? Cheers

PN: Those offsets and widths should work -- they are the same as the GT2 wheels with the only difference being the 19" vs 18" size. A friend has fitted GT2 wheels/tires on a significantly lowered Turbo without any rubbing issues. Assuming you can get the right sized tires and keep the overall diameter of the wheel/tire assembly the same as the stock 18" GT2 setup (~25.4" front and ~24.5" rear), you should be fine.

I've sent you a PM.

Jack,

Would the 19 inch cause any rolling diameter differences ? I am thinking of using contisport2 235's and 315's.
What do you think ?

Thanks,

PN

Probably, but it may not cause a problem. You need to call the tire manufacturer and get the exact rolling diameter of their tire. You can get an approximation by doing the math using the tire sizing (i.e., multiplying the side wall percentage by the tire width times 2 plus the tire diameter), but every manufacturer's tires are slightly different. That is, not every brand of tire sized 235x35x19 will have the same rolling diameter -- they will be close, but I've seen variations by as much as .2" depending upon the tire brand. BTW, what I was trying to say earlier was ....... as long as the 19" wheel/tire combo is not significantly taller than the GT2 18" wheel/tire assembly, you should not have any "top of the wheel arch" contact issues. I'm fairly certain you won't have any fender lip (side) clearance issues given the wheel width and offset. However, bear in mind that similarly sized tires of differing brands can also have different widths. I apologize in advance if I'm making this way too complicated -- I just don't want to offer less than complete info.

Many people on this Board have gone with 19" wheels and the same tires you'll be using, but with more aggressive offsets, and have not had any clearance problems. Hope this helps.

Jack,

Thank you for the reply. I think I will opt for the GT2 offset just to be safe.

PS: sent you a PM!

PN...

Here is a link to a .pdf data sheet for the ContiSport 2...

http://www.conti-online.com/generato...tasheet_en.pdf

I have those tire sizes (235/35 & 315/25) on 8.5 front/ 11 rear on a lowered TT with no problems at all.
