Are you trying to call him out?? Be very careful, remember, all you have to do is click on the "user name" then click on "threads started" or "all post" to see all his pictures. Something is fishy here.....

How did it turn out tooth dr? I've read positive comments re the PP front bumper fitment but fibreglass scares me - so easy to crack!

timely thread revival. since i put on my pp strosek/techart copy wing cpl weeks ago i have been bitten by the cosmetically enhanced bug that makes you like things bigger than they once were. although that could have something also to do with a new gf lol

but i am thinking of going all too nuts with this http://www.ebay.com/itm/180803010875 IF precision makes it. ( i think they make the TA gt front copy?? WITH dlr's which'd be nice ) and precisions stuff is first rate! never had feedback on extreemcars or whoever on ebay.

anyway...just thinkin, which usually get me in trouble...

Here's the first thing that came to mind when I clicked that link...
To tell ya the truth, it might actually look good on your car. Like the silver one with the black hood in the ad.

aww man, and i trusted you lol. is it really that cheese whiz?

i think it'll look sharp! and since led tails are going to ruin the entire rear of the car aesthetically speaking, why not match the front with something totally 80's HA

ya! ya saw that? i defy anyone to say the blk/silver one with that front fascia isn't sick. it isn't an oem look by a longshot. but my car ( like its owner ) is such a bastard by now, figure so much for "original" lol

i could live with that. minus the 997?! wheels ..

Thumbs up

I'm looking at replacement bumpers too! I have a TechArt styled bumper that's a little worse for wear and the 997 styled bumpers catch my eye. The eBay ad posted is interesting but didn't exactly fill me with confidence as it seemed poorly put together. Precision Porsche has been mentioned often as a good source, I found this over there that might interest you and has certainly caught my eye!

http://precision911.com/techart-gts-...05-121-pd.html

Reputable vendor, cheaper price, and apparently comes with ducting. I like it but am also consider RUF if I could get it but that's not going to use the 997 DRL etc. that I like. Thoughts?

thats same as i posted above on the blk/silver car and am also looking at. it's precision and their stuff is always good from what I've seen. i just got a strosek there and would get the ta from them before any other aftermarket fiberglass place. the whole thing with the drl's will set you back 4.

the ruf you start at 4 and theres no drls etc.

Same parts yes, at least it appears so, but NOT the same company as was posting to eBay. For starters they appear to want more money and this is their website http://xtrememotorcars.com/xtr/986_996/main.html vs the Precision site I posted earlier.

From what I can find Precision has a reputation, I haven't found much about "xtrememotorcars". Different phone numbers, different cities, both located in Cali. Since Precision's site appears well put together and Xtreme's eBay ad much less and wants more money I'm inclined to lean towards Precision. BTW anyone know who 999-Design is? Xtreme mentions nothing about Techart.

Aside from needing side markers and DRL from a 997 plus bodywork obviously is there anything else needed for the Precision piece? Driving lights\spots it looks like? Has anyone put one of these on? I'd love to hear about any experiences. I know that RUF will fit and while Precision has a good rep someone's personal experience would be helpful. Are you going to go after this bumper yourself?

Will be chatting with a painter this weekend I hope to try and get a ballpark on what he might want to fit this puppy if I move forward.

Keep in mind the RUF isn't just a bumper cover. It's a complete kit that changes the radiator placement, new radiator piping, and underbody undertray. After installing it you can literally feel the front end of the car get sucked down onto the road over 80-90mph and the steering get heavier.

Just my .02 as to why it's more expensive than the other options people are considering.

This is why I purchased my RUF bumper. It wasn't 4k but it wasn't far from it either. I spent about 3500 all in on it mostly because the euro exchange rate wasn't the best, the rest went to shipping and importation stuff. IMO the RUF is the way to go if you have the money to spend.

I can appreciate that the RUF parts are an engineered package, they're worth the cost IMO. My understanding is that they're stopping production, or about to, and as well designed as they are I'm not 100% sold on the look. I REALLY like that they fit well and are urethane though! That's what has kept them in consideration for me. I expect to be making a pricing and availability inquiry.

Slider, thanks for the vendor feedback! Hate to pass judgement based on a web site but when it's all you've got.... Feedback from folks using a company is important to me!
