QuickSilver VMax200 and a very quick 996 TT!
Thought i would post this video from XCar covering the QuickSilver VMax200 event, a day which pitted supercar owners against one another in a bid to achieve the highest top speed.
There were some amazing cars in attendance, from a Ruf CTR3 through to a Zonda S, Mirage Ford GT, QuickSilver Porschelain 997 GT2, Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, Lamborghini Aventador, an Ultima 1000, GTR's, 996 Turbo's you name it. Who do you think came out on top? http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?...7U&app=desktop |

I would be scared to run on that airstrip. I'll take something dry for a high speed run!!

Very cool. It states its a "2 mile event". Does anyone know at what distance they are clocked at?
|
nice….

Holy moterfuk! 229mph?! Amazing!
|
Way to outgun the bigguns.
|
Nice! ! ! ! !

Didn't expect it to smash the other cars so hard. It puts into perspective how fast a 1350bhp 996 really is... I mean the aventador has such an aero advantage on it, but it doesn't even matter. 229 is a whole different ballgame.
This summer I'm running a 2.5 mile top-speed run in my gt2. Hopefully along with my buddy (LQQK on this forum). Hoping to break 200! |
Hey guys, for reference this was over a 3.2km straight at a place called Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in the UK. It is an ex-military airfield (although they seem to still use it on occasion!). As far as i know it is the longest privately owned straight i have ever heard of, Bentley and McLaren do a lot of testing there so well worth a visit, if you book the track time of course.
Just for reference i went in the Ruf CTR 3 which "only" went 206mph and all i can say is OMG! I would can;t imagine what another 23mph would have felt like, or what the stopping distance felt like but all i can say is it must have been terrifying! Glad you enjoyed the vid J |
Wow..incredible.
