Just had a good experience with Union Line Garage in Hopewell. Nothing too sophisticated, just a post-purchsae inspection of my new 996 Turbo S.

Just want to update my post, I ended up going with Yurii at PolarPorsche to do the maintenance on my car.
I would definitely recommend him for all your major and minor services.
Nothing against undercover but I got the impression they were a bigger shop and worked more on custom and high hp upgrades and the week I wanted to take it in I think they posted that they were short on staff. Also, I hate going to shops where the service desk is the middleman between you and the person actually working on the car (not that they do this but I prefer smaller establishments)
Yurii is the owner and works on the cars himself and I got more of a personal direct feel with his service. Communications was also very good while he had the car.
He basically did 30k service, changed the coils, plugs, oil and filter, gear fluids, new alt. belt, new filters (fuel and cabin) cleaned K&N filter which came with car, cleaned MAF, ICs and front radiators and he installed an exhaust which I brought with me.
I also purchased one of his custom center consoles which look amazing on the interior.
The car was breaking up under WOT and throwing misfire codes, now its smooth as butter all the way to redline, turbo's spool way quicker now mostly from the exhaust but I'm more than happy with the service and performance of the car now.

Thanks Yurii......

Thanks Yurii......
Check your drain plug, just had my oil changed and turns out Yurii didn't use a magnetic plug. Nothing against him, I just didn't expect corners to be cut like that.

Hmmmmm. Thanks for the heads up, does the drain plug come with the filter?
Anything else you think I should check, the car definitely feels refreshed, I'm hitting 1.1bar so I'm assumed everything was done right, plus he owns a 996tt also so I naturally assumed he knew what he's doing.

Thanks for the heads up

Btw, this is the ro2ro week right?

I'm not sure how they are packaged/shipped. I don't think you have anything to worry about, I've put 5k miles on since my service with Yurii and had no issues.
I was just taken back when I found a standard drain plug was used.

A few weeks after my service I found a handful of boost leaks that we're not there before, but I can't guarantee that came from the fluid/plug/pack service.

RO2RO is this Friday, coming down?

magnetic plugs don't come with any service pkg i know of. filters and even crush washers are sold separately. magnetic plugs can be purchased and installed, but the trans plug is the only magnetic plug i have found on simple services. the 4 plugs used on oil changes aren't magnetic

I had a feeling you'd end up going there being closest to you. Fabspeed is huge, but Provost and UC are smaller and you would get a personal experience. You would not end up with the middleman at both Provost and UC; besides the middlemen are great! If I see Max first, I handle my issue with him and wave at Robbie at the back. Robbie turns out race cars and races himself as well as most of his crew. Getting Garth is pretty tough to get on the phone because he is busy working in the back-- which is what most of us hope for anyway, right? I believe he was short on crew because the demand has been great, turning out Pcars at a greater frequency. Anyway, glad you have things sorted out and know that you have plenty of good options out there.

turns out Polar Porsche purchased the 996TT i was looking at.

Sadly they overpaid for the car and are now asking more than I'm willing to pay.

oh well.

would that be an arctic silver 996tt with brown interior?
If so I saw it, he did some service on it and updated the center console too.
Still make an offer on it, you never know...

Good luck...

yes, its that one.

Service he did, center console was already silver.

They paid more at auction than I would offer for the car, and thats not including auction fees and the like. They've only had it about a month, so I'm guessing they aren't ready to take a loss on it yet.
