High Boost/Bigger Tubo - Higher Viscosity? What oil?
I use rotella t6 5w-40...
I believe its more about how often you change oil than what kind of oil. The t6 is decently cheap (not that you should care about saving on oil for these cars) for 8 quarts, and its protective. Its heavy diesel oil. Its worked for me so far!

Either this or Castrol 10W60. Both oils are excellent for these cars.
+1 on Rotella T6 5w40, although I may switch up and try a 5w50(anyone have experience with Castrol Syntec/'Edge'? for a few oil changes and see if I notice any 'differences'. Would like to test 10w60's as well, but at ~3x the cost of T6 I don't have enough incentive.
T6 has lots of moly and ZDDP in it, bearing/load-surface savers...also, almost have noticed near 0 oil consumption over oil change interval, 3k miles/5k km.
Cheers,
Rob

^ i'm using castrol edge for the first time in an effort to mitigate the oil starved condition i was having in extreme heat startup at +100 temps.
my summer blend is 4qt's of edge 5/40 and 4.5-5 qts of edge 5/50. there has been no sound at startup since the change. the car sounds happy, so i'll stick with this. in winter ( should we ever have one ) i'll probably go back to a winter fill of castrol edge 5/40. i would use the mobil 5/50 but it's hard to source and relatively expensive out here.

Good old OW-40 should be fine. I have heard that the thicker the oil, the longer it takes to circulate. If you're going to track the car, then higher viscosity oil makes sense. If you're just driving around sanely on the street with lots of HP, I would keep to 0W-40, but that's just me.
! ^ not if you heard what 0/40 regularly sounds like in my 118k motor upon starts +100. i promise you'd seek options. my starts now at 100 are perfectly lubed. you can hear it, and the difference.
0/40 in HI temps is good for pancakes on a griddle just maybe? but i quieted an awful screech by upping the viscosity. i really think it's just too thin for some temps. admittedly this is anecdotal.

I personally like the Liqui Molly 10w60. It's a BMW designed oil but I love the oil so far nothing but good things I see so far . Has a nice list of additives and has a nice cushion for higher temps here in FL as well as cars making a good bit of power , always a good piece of mind .
