Help with my convertible top on 996tt

Guys need help... How in the hell do you get to the spring on a top
I thinks it's a snap cable.. There is nothing on how to even get to it
Not even how to take it apart..
Help thanks

You may check the sticky link to the shop manual at the top of the page. Maybe some info there. The top on wife's Boxster did something similar. I slowly lowered the top and straightened it out. Eased it up and made sure it was on track, never a problem since.

Have you disconnected the cables at the back under the window ever? It's done with the top in the half way down position. They snap on to a ball ended fastener. If you are not sure what you are doing, you may want to visit your dealer. GL!

Place the roof in the service position (part way between open and closed) and inspect the area.

Yep the dealer wants to charge 1.3 hours to see wht the problem is, and at the end it may cost $$$$$

I sure did... But it's how to get to the cable
That's the hard part .

I have the same problem. Ther is a broken link in there so the cable wont stretch tight.

Can you put it all the way down? If so, it's about to be summer Down Under, so pop the top and enjoy for 6 months - that'll solve your problem!
