997 has a PTM box that controls AWD based on need.

if you use a standalone with a G sensor / accelerometer you can make it output whatever you want to the front drive. with a stock ecu you are limited on what you can do.

Something I'd love to do for sure, I've discussed it with Garth a time or three and the front drives aren't super expensive. Sadly not something I can take on anytime too soon I expect.

Also, I believe the AEM standalone ECU has capability to control AWD systems like this one based upon conversations I had with one of their engineers awhile back....

Is the 997 front diff a slightly different ratio than the 996? Compensate for it with tire sizes? Also is it just on/off or can you modulate the voltage to modulate the torque?

it is different ratio 3.33 vs 3.44 in 996 so you have to run 997TT size tires which are better anyway. you can modulate torque to it via PWM signal.

Do you know what PWM frequency to be modulates that is used for making this work or what the original system uses?
