Everyone tells me to go with covered. Is covered just an abundance of caution? Also assume we need the elevator to get these into trucks since these cars are so low? I have never had a Porsche before, so I'm trying to follow good orderly direction

intercity just shipped our GT2 from SF to Ohio. No issues at all. The driver that was assigned to move our two cars was great. Definitely go with covered for peace of mind.

ok heres my .02 i was a car hauler for 14 yrs. open carrier is perfectly fine unless you have a million dollar car or a car that would be a target of theft or vandalism. as far as transport itself covered open doesn't matter. i have hauled gm, dodge, ford, mercedes , corvettes etc on a open carrier no issues. its the driver that makes or breaks the haul. you can scratch, damage, crush a car with an enclosed carrier just as easy as an open carrier.

if your shipping in the dead of winter thru salt and snow you might prefer an enclosed. but in all honesty its a car that costs the same as a new loaded ford pickup not a lambo

if you're going private i believe that "intercity" has the best no damage and "on time" rep of any you'll find. prices are all gonna be similar. its like moving/transporting anything anything re costs...
and of course go covered.. it winter for most of youse guys.

Are you moving the GT2 to or from Houston? There's a strong Houston Pcar presence and I don't believe we've had the pleasure of meeting you. Send a message if you want to meet up with us.

Also, I would do the enclosed. Weather is something that is out of your control. You never know what can contact the body.

I bought my gt2 sight unseen from Texas. The dealer recommended Quik Trans. For closed carriage shipping..I believe it was 1500$.

I had the drivers number and called every day to check on location because he was driving through a pretty ridiculous storm in the south east at the time. Like hurricane warnings.

It was very smooth and a pleasure to see the other gems on the rig. 930turbo, evora, some other stuff I can't remember.

I'll dig pics a little later for ya.

Gluck!

For my 996, I ended up paying 450 from tn to tx and it took one day.

Later my boxster was 700 and took about 3 days or so.
