Oem turbo twists wheels repaint question
I have original turbo twists wheels. I have to refurbish them as they've oxidised on the inside.
1. I was thinking losing the silver surround to make wheels look bigger.
2. Going with a completely different colour.
What do you guys think?
Anyone painted the stock twists. Any photos would be appreciated.
Thanks.

@MadWhip, I think shinny black on my yellow just wont look right.

Nice, I am also thinking going the powder coated route. Is the paint tougher - stone chips? How about cleaning - comparing to the normal shinny paint?

Ok, I've decided to go without the lip. Optically I think it will make wheels slightly bigger. This is not a bad thing considering current wheels sizes. :-0. Guy who did it used poxy to repair the damage before painting and none of water based paints. Proper tough stuff. I suggest taking wheels off once a year and cleaning them on the inside. I will do this from now on.

Nothing is easy! Wheels look great but the centre caps were all yellow. My car-painter said he won't paint the turbo sign in the centre wheel caps black. He said, his hands are too shaky. Damn. Well, after contemplating over night what to do I went at it myself. Pig of a job but I've got there. Hand painted and clear coated with a can spray to make it last. Proud me!
