AUX Cable for 996TT

i have 03 , do i have to buy an adapter for it, I believe newer 996s or older used to have aux output mounted in the back of the radio? all you had to do just run the cable.... I would like to hook the cable to my android phone so i can listen to mp3's.

I always wanted to try this but upgraded the equipment already:

The idea is to convert the cable into a bluetooth adapter for just about any bluetooth enabled device

BTW, I have that cable on my desk just sitting there if anyone wants it.

I might be interested in it, what's the product name and did you buy it to "try to make it work" or is it supposed to work by using the cd changer aux?

I've used the cable before when I first got the car. This is an extra cable. The bluetooth adapter does work since I use it now at home with my altec lansing ipad docking station and it works phenomenally well. The bluetooth adapter was purchased from amazon.com

In theory it should work, you will have to go into "programming " mode on the cdr-220 to enable CD changer control if there is not one there. From there I don't think the cables cares where the sound source is from. It is wired for 12V to 5V charging as labeled so should provide power to the adapter. .....in theory. Heck I even have a spare CDR-220 and a cdr-23 in the junk box too
