So, what's this car worth?

So, I have a Seal Gray / GG '02 TT (non X50). Carbon fibre center console shifter & brake, sport seats, clear bra on front end so paint is perfect all the way around....

18K miles.

Dealer said $74K for trade in.... ugh. What do you guys think?

PS. I'm not for sure doing this, but just want to know value #s.

Thanks!

Are you sure about this?

Is it manual or tiptronic? That should only be about a $800 difference. $76,000 is reasonable if it is in excellent condition, but they will turn around and sell it for $86,000. So you have to decide if you want them to make that $10,000 profit, or try to sell it to a private party and put the $10,000 into mods for your next ride. But sometimes selling your car is a pain. Good Luck. PS, That sucks about the Astros, wanted them to win.

Scott,

If you really want to see what your car is worth wholesale, check on www.manheim.com it will tell you what your car is selling for at wholesale auctions in your area. If you want to see what the retail is check KBB or Edmunds.

Remember though.... it's amazing what we can get used to. You WILL miss that car but only until you get the 997TT :D .

My friend traded in his 2003 turbo for $80k, so I think $74k seems reasonable for a 2002.

Wow that m5 is beautiful!

It's worth the same with or without that cf rear center console - so let's trade and I'll give you some gas money for the new beast!

Robert, I'm not sure yet, but trying to figure out what I want to do, and part of my decision process is finding what the numbers are.
Thanks for the wholesale link!

I will probably sell myself if I do it at all. I think if someone bought it for 84K or so, it would be a decent deal for them. I know this car, and it's excellent. We'll see what happens. Thanks!

TT Surgeon Oct 28, 2005 08:40 AM

My dealer has two TT's an '02 and a '03, both with x50, one high miles, one low. They're asking 112k and 109k, out of their f'ing minds.I'd try to sell it for 90k if I were you, 76k is insulting.
