OK, finally removed my old gaskets and ready to install the new ones. Same failure point aorund the dowel pin like everybody else.

The old gaskets appear to be Victor Reinz and kind of plastic-y, while the replacement gaskets look like die cut plain ol' fish paper gasket material.

I'm a lilttle concerned since the old gaskets measure .0009" thick and the new replacement gaskets measures .0019" thick. Should I be concerned about this much difference in thickness and will this affect things like bearing pre-load?

Porsche caused mine. 3 of the bolts on the inside cover could be turned with your fingers. One was very loose.. like working itself out.

I cannot not believe they wouldn't use loctite on them.

I'm so disappointed in Porsche workmanship right now. My car has 25k miles.

i am, but I'm not sure that Mercedes isn't just a parts supplier vs the builder. Either way... pathetic
