Spring Rate Recommendations

I am working with a suspension company (Feal) to develop a set of coilovers for me. They come custom spec from the get go so I wanted to get some input from some of the suspension gurus on here as to what spring rates I should run. They will valve the shocks to match the rates I choose.

I know that most track guys prefer the 600/800 setup but I feel that it might be a little too harsh for me since I am going to street drive it mostly and start off doing some AutoX to get to know the car before ever hitting the track. Ive driven a car with a track oriented suspension before and it wasnt horrible but I would like a little bit more civilized of a setup. That being said, I dont want it to be too civil where it gets bouncy or wobbly at speed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Well, based on what you wrote I'd say you want to start with springs somewhere between the stock ones and the track ones.

The problem is if these are not suitable then you might need to have another set made up that are stiffer or not so stiff.

If you can't find something off the shelf that suits you then you are going to have to experiment with different springs (and shock valving) setups until you find your happy place.

To know you are in your happy place you may have to go too far in either direction to know the middle is where the happy place.
