I have been looking for a more robust brake solution to the OEM rotors/pads. Ultimately I went with the GiroDisc 2 piece rotors/Pagid RS29 yellow pads. Now I just need to bed in the rotors/pads for VIR in two weeks.

These are good rotors and a great value at $2000 for the whole set. I'd go with PFC 08/11s over the RS29s however. No bedding and a superior pad on all fronts...

very nice, i'm also in need of a new setup at least rotors and also be hoping to hear your impressions also. were the sebro's considered or just these known to be better i wonder.

I have run that same set up with the yellows and with performance friction both have incredible stopping power. Only problem is I need a set of pads is not that squeal on the street.

that sound is possibly the least favorite sound that the car ever makes. wonder if that anti squeal stuff works. usually a few hard stops eliminates it though, gets the dust or baked on material off i'm told.

^ I run these with PFC 08's front & 01's in the rear great combo, tried RS29s not as good - lots of fade, also just as important go with good brake fluid, Castrol SRF and GT2 brake cooling ducts to direct air, never had issue, heavy cars capable of fast straights

I picked them up from Stable Energies. I run Castrol SRF fluid. I looked at the Sebro's. EBWorks & a couple others. I have a couple of track buddies who use them. I went with the GiroDisc & Stable Energies recommendations on the pads. In talking with a couple of Porsche mechanics, they like the PFC's too. I like the service at Stable Energies (Joe), but don't deal with the owner Bob. He is a complete peckerhead. Must be bi-polar or something because you don't know what you're going to get on the other phone line.

Nothing helps with the sound that a pair of race pads like the PFC 08/11's makes, ask me how I know!!!! :eek::eek::mad::mad::(:(:confused::confused: :eek: :eek:
I love the feel / bite of the PFC pads but the noise on the street is more than a little annoying.

Anti squeal will not work. The only way you can keep PFCs or other race pads quiet is to maintain a layer of transfer material on the rotor surface. To do so you will need to bring the pads and rotors to 700-800F which obviously is not achievable with just a few hard stops. This transfer layer will quickly wear off then the brakes are not hot as the pads are very abrasive when cool. There is really no way you can maintain race pads at their optimum operating temperature on the street... My experience with PFCs is that they don't squeal much but my car is used 90% at the track.. They also don't reach their optimum friction levels until the 2nd or third lap.

Here is my front rotor and you can see the transfer layer starting to wear off already after a day of street driving. They slowly start getting noisier and noisier.

yeah, you guys are all running what exceeds my needs. there has to be a happy medium btw the race pads/rotors and oem, that would suit my uses better and i do have custom ducting that was installed for the track use that involved home depot cooling ducting hose lol.

but i sure can't handle brake squeal, thats one thing for certain. apologies vprklr.. i'll do my research w/out messing up your thread. thx for the advice though..

Endless MX 72's are your pad. Work great on the street but will take some track abuse. The bad thing with endless pads is the extreme price!
