Grinding sound when locking car

Hi all,
I need some input. When I lock the doors to my 996 TT, I hear a grinding noise. I have checked each point where it locks I.e. Doors, hood, and gas tank. I think the motor at the fuel tank is grinding. Has anyone experienced this? Anyone know how to fix it.,

Thanks!

could very well be the fuel door lock motor rod is dragging, mine was when I bought mine(from lack of use from previous owner I think..). Check its aligned with the catch and work the rod back and forth with some silicon spray or other favourite solution until its working freely. Mine's perfect now.
Cheers,
