Urgent help request - coils - ANSWERED, Thanks everyone!

Sorry for cross posting this to a few forums, but my car is in pieces and I'd like to get it back together tonight.

I have my car apart and was just about to change my spark plugs and coils and I noticed the coils I have been shipped are Boxster parts. 986-221-016-000

The Bosch box has 2 stickers on it. What looks to be the original sticker from Bosch with the 986 # and a second, what looks to be added later sticker with the correct 997-602-104-00 pn.

Is this correct, or have I been sold the wrong coils?

Help!

TIA

Not sure on the boxster pn, but 997 is the updated correct coil.

I understand that the 997 # is correct.
The box shows both #'s.

That first number comes up under mainly UK sources. What number is on the coils themselves?

I think the sticker on the box is telling you to have a technician install those, lol. Sorry, had to say it.

Post 32 and on.
You have the correct ones.

Thanks Jeanmark.

"One size fits all".

I got an answer on a different forum.
If you look closely, the "986" number is actually 0 986 221 016 -000. This is NOT a Porsche #, it's Bosch's own internal part number. Unfortunate they picked a number that looked a lot like a Porsche #, and of a vehicle of the same era. :faceplant:
