Time for a suspension upgrade!
Ok I've own my car for 10+years. I've had jic/cross coilovers on for about 10years. I believe They have Runned their course ?. They need a full rebuild so that got me thinking maybe it's time for something new? it's been a long time and a lot of new and improved coilovers have come to market. So this is where I'd like to hear some input from all you guys as far as my next course of direction. I "try" to do 10 track days a year if work/family allows it. Lol
Here are some options I was considering I'm open to hear other options as well? Motons Jrz Ohlins Thanks |
If you have the money for them, JRZ all the way
|
I went from stock to RUF lowering springs and hated them as the ride was far too choppy. Then went to Bilstein PSS10's and am very happy with them.

Jrz...

Olsen motorsports in chicago. Jrz regional rep and custom builder best in the business

don't forget Motion Control on your list, ex-Moton guys started a new company
I'll be doing Ohlins over the winter...putting (to be refreshed) factory GT2 Bilsteins on my dad's TT |
per you earlier point re elephant. looks like bilstein is still refreshing the gt3 pieces... that may end up being my next upgrade from old shyte i'm still clunkin along with lol.
you guys with yer 5k setups.. love it. |
What about KW3. Put mine on about 5 years ago & they work well.
|
Excellent! Hope you go for it! :)
Coilovers are cheaper for GT's, I'm going with the Ohlins Road & Track kit...should fit my usage well, and only $2500! :) Some guys here are running around on WAY more then $5k dampers...

you guys with yer 5k setups.. love it. +1, Joey(ex-BBi) @ E-Motion Engineering strongly suggested I look at KW Clubsports(or V3), but out of my budget this time around. A strong endorsement for KW, coming from him...

i would suggest looking at the rebuild ability if the parts you want to buy. my car came with jrz single rebound coil overs with 600/800 lb springs. 2007 build. in need of a rebuild i contacted olsen motorsports. the owner priced me at 850$ for a complete rebuild. tons cheaper than new sets of anything on the market. maybe a good used set of something and rebuild? then you high dollar coil overs for budget pricing

Rob, perhaps we will run across each other at TMP or elsewhere in the GTA. I was about to buy Ohlins but found a set of lightly used kw clubsports that will be installed over the winter. Would like to compare notes after a few miles.

Look forward to it Earl! TMP is home for me...I'm about 1hour west-south-west of Toronto.
I'm just excited to get off the tired original dampers and into something fresh :) Let me know how the KW's work out for you :) Cheers, Rob |

I'll keep my eyes out for a used set to come up for but they usually don't last long on the market. how do you like your spring rates? too soft? or just right? thanks for the advise
