Even gt3rs are way over the top with all of that, ugly imo. No way I'd put stickers like that on any car for any reason let alone a good looking car. At least it looks a little better without the red wheels.

Please tell him to sell it and get a GT2 with previous paintwork/bodywork...please don't chew up a nice one
Maybe you can convince him with numbers...such as losing half the car's value by doing a colour change paint job...

Well, to each is own. With the GT2, the last thing I would want is to draw too much attention to it.
My thoughts are that those certain folks will want it and next thing it's stolen. Not to mention the attention for the cops if one is speeding.
Lastly, if he thinks he can drive the GT2 without a clear head, he's just asking for trouble as in possibly killing him self...Widow Maker ?

What's the issue, its his car...just advise against paint or even powder coat.
Mirrors, graphics do a vinyl wrap (removable and actually protective).
For the wheels find someone who specializes in "AutoFlex Coatings". Similar concept to plastidip, with a texture free finish that lays flat like vinyl and has the gloss and reflects light just like paint does, but is fully reelable with no residue on the below surface.
I see that you're in Boston, one of the best installers is located in Philadelphia if your friend wants to make the trip (or arrangements for him to drive to Boston). He also does vinyl graphics. I'd be happy to put you in touch if you'd like.
This wheel was silver, with AutoFlex applied over it
This CTS-V is actually black with silver wheels, also fully coated in AutoFlex

I agree 100% ...no issue as long as it's all reversible !!! Please for the love of God do not let him actually paint the car a different color though!!!! If you have to have an intervention so be it, but you need to draw the line somewhere
