Here's one reason to replace brake pad dampeners

...or atleast eject them. I was in the process of taking the calipers off to have them powder coated and both of my fronts had the dampener seized inside of the piston...sprayed down with PB Blaster, let it soak and still no luck getting them out. I ended up taking it to a shop, once they get the piston out I'm hoping they have some sort of jig or tool that can yank on the screw and hold the piston in without damaging it.
Anyone else run into this? If so, how'd you fix it? |
I don't even use front dampers at all. No squealing issue either. Looks like a pain in the ass. Good luck!

remove the screw, make sure everything is flat and leave it there, it doesn't change anything
i have one in a front caliper too, pad dampeners are real junk if you ask me |
