Best brake Pads for street

I'm running brembo bbk up front in my 996tt, I don't know which pads are currently in there but they do not seem to bite like I'd like them too.

Which pads do you guys recommend running for the street , and high way pulls

I've used PFCs on all of my past Porsche and leave them on for street as well. Always been happy with them.

I had the same feeling with ATE pads I tried, no stopping power. Hawk HPS pads have been working nice for me. Pretty short bed in time, nice stopping power and low dust. Front = HB667F.622 Rear = HB550F.634 BTW, your avatar is my favorite on the whole "interweb" :) I have to look more than once every time I see one of your posts.

PFC's are mostly happy on the street, except for noise, 08-f/11-r compound in my case.
OEM is hard to beat for street...

Flatty 03-13-2017 06:22 AM

for street use... OEM is not good enough? What about DS3000?

K24F 03-13-2017 03:16 PM

I run Pagid RS29 (yellow) for years because the initial bite is far better vs oem, the stopping power as well, no scream and they last pretty long time.
Of course the rotors won't last as long as with oem pads.
My use is 80% fast roads and 20% track.

Endless without a doubt.

why are mintex or even textars ( though potentially squealish ) or any OEM not the "best for street"?

The Op stated he had the Brembo BBk up front, I have it too, looks like this?

So when you say OEM are we talking Brembo pads? I am also wondering about what pads to use when it comes time to replace. I guess when i pull them out they will have some numbers on them that i can cross reference to find out what is available for this caliper and the 350mm rotor

Yes the same bbk as in your pic , I remember when I had stoptech bbk on my m3 they were amazing .. but again I don't remember what pads were on there ..lol

Anyone try ferodo pads ?

Turbopun 03-19-2017 10:00 AM

*Love* my Ferodo DS2500s (admittedly on other vehicles). Best compromise of initial bite, torque, predictable fade, etc.

Used Hawks for years (HPS/+, DTC-30/70/80), and yes I liked them, but the dust, omg that dust... That stuff was corrosive and would bake on.

viprklr 03-19-2017 01:25 PM

Padgid RS29 yellow way to go.

I have EBC Red Stuff pads. Hate them, hate them, HATE THEM.
Crap initial bite and they overheat and fade very easily. Stay away from these pieces of junk.

Probably going to go for the Pagid RS29's when I finally get around to it.

I loved the Pagid Oranges I used to run on my track rat Boxster, but the squeals and grinding noises they made had people looking at every stoplight :)

Happy with my Hawk HPS, but I also don't have experience with anything other than the oem setup
