997 front strut mounts

So my front strut bearings are toast. (Last year was the ball joints and I replaced all the control arms and tie rod ends in the front) I was thinking of doing the elephant racing monoball inserts. While looking at their website I noticed that they had OEM strut mounts as well. From the site they are selling 997 mounts for fitment on a 996 They are less than 1/2 price from the over priced 996 unit. Has anyone used the 997 turbo mounts on 996 turbo? The pictures look the same but the 997 mount are silver color plated vs 996 being black.

Darn it, just replaced mounts and bearings with stock. Billstein makes a mount as well. Following your pursuit.

Strut mounts - OEM and otherwise

I have been doing a little more research. The 997 and 996 parts do look a little different when comparing pictures on ECStuning but the difference might be insignificant in the fitment\ function. I found on ECStuning website that they sell a Hamburg Technic kit (I have not seen any good reviews for that brand so I will not be buying the kit) that is listed for both the 996 and 997 turbo:

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-hamburg-...99634350100kt/

They look like the 996 units. So another piece of info that makes me think that the 997tt OEM parts ($113 ea) would fit on a 996tt ($290 ea). Hopefully someone comes across this thread and confirms that they have used the 997 parts on a 996.

The Elephant Racing mounts you listed are for the non-awd cars and will not fit our cars. Due to our front axles, the strut had to be offset. Because of this, you will see the angle needed for the awd cars. The ECS Tuning link of the correct part.

I know they list the turbo (awd) part, but it's not correct. I ended up using the mono-ball inserts. Very happy with them and they aren't going to tear up like the stock mount.

Later, Steve
