Rear tire wear update.

So after 10000ish miles here is what my rears look like after the solid bushings and monoballs in the LCAs. Alignment is set at 1.5 camber and +.23 tow per side. Still getting quite the inside wear but this is what my tires used to look like after 3000 miles. So somewhat of a help, but still pretty bad I think. This is 100% street car. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...f107d0574.jpeg

man that's crazy... not looking forward to this...

are you using the 'suggested' street alignment for better wear? (I ask bc I don't remember what the specs are for that vs. what you mentioned)

Looks normal to me after that many miles. These cars eat inside rear tires.

Get adjustable toe links then go more neutral on your alignment. Problem solved.

IMO it's all in the alignment. I have over 10k on my rear and stock links and they wear perfect. Even with the car lowered. Perfect wear across.

That's true it is in the alignment but take into account what your car does when accelerating and in curves. I've been through all this FYI.

Are you doing a lot of highway miles and not corners? If that's the case I can see that. Might want to take the toe in a bit more as well as the camber.

Your toe of +0.23 per side, what figure is that in? I'm assuming that you are quoting degrees? Factory spec is in minutes. If you are running +23 minutes (') per side, it is way excessive. If it's degrees you are right on the money. Factory spec is 15' per side (+0.25 degrees), even a Cup is at +17' per side. I run +17' and have perfect tire wear with -2.5 degrees camber.

What tires are those?

I can send you something that will calculate your car's settings and eliminate the wear, email me. Djcooper at RennKit dot com.

FMI, Is a + toe value toe in or toe out?

+ is in and - is out

Yes something like 2-2.5 camber here also. BMW tend to have the prob of the tire like you posted and more often than not people think it's camber due to the angle but I think it's really a toe issue when you see that wear on the shoulder. And toe wear accelerates pretty quickly explaining why you aren't getting much mileage.

it's degrees. So .50 total. When I ran the stock alignment, I destroyed tires.

and to the above, yes. The car is 95% highway. Almost zero turns.
