Hi Guys,
i just purchased a set of OZ alleggeritas in GT2 size. On them are toyo proxes R888`s mounted. 235/40r18 and 315/30r18.
I found out, that there are just 2 possible semi slicks available. the toyos and yokohama A028.
Are there any other semis availabe? Different brand and sizes, which are possible to mount on these rims?

There are also Nitto N1 available. Dunno where to get them in the EU...

 

Ive found in these sizes (GT2) there are very minimal options to choose from without changing sizes completely, Falken RT615+, Toyo R888R, Nittos, yokohama a052ss
Semi slicks narrows that down even more to the Toyos, nitto and yokohamas

 

Yep.
I got the toyos r888 on them. The tire feels softer than the cup1. The steering feels more precise with the cup1. Well i will see how the grip wil be at the next trackday in oktober.

 

So, the wheels are mounted with toyos. Feels good..looks good too. :-)

Congrats they will last and grip for a long time on the street, take care at the track after like 2 track days, they will decrease their performance dramatically

hope toyo will launch their r888r R18 in bigger sizes soon, seems the new ones last till the cords as Nittos

other than that, there is no other option in Europe to run wider than 295s rears...

 

Since the front of our cars tends always to understeer, i will try on the track a 235/40 Pirelli trofeo R and a 315/30 toyo proxes R888 combo. The Trofeo is for now the best semi you can get.
But first i will test the full toyo combo

 

Looks like the new 888r in 315 and 335 are out now, I might give them a try.

No, it's not. 295 is widest e-approved. Those mentioned above are only DOT-approved. Only e-approved 335's available in 18" are either R888 or Kumho V70A, while stock lasts.

 

I would not waste the money on the R888. I've run them and it's a horrible track tire. In the US it's universally hated by virtually all track guys. Maybe Toyo drastically improved it with the new R888R?

Seems the new r888r compound to be very similar to nt01. I run them on my gtr, still not enough heat cycles to draw some conclusions, but they should last till the cords as toyo is marketing thier product

 

Ahh. Thx. Hopefully it gets street legal in EU. Otherwise i will try the combo toyo r888 at the rear in 315/30r18 and Pirelli trofeo at the front. Or i will use the 235/40 toyo r888r at the front... we will see
