you could also try switching out with another and seeing if the code follows the coil...but I wouldn't do anything until you actually read the Porsche codes (durametric, PIWIS or PST2)

Update:

the plugs were fouled beyond anything i have ever seen.
New plugs & 997 coil packs were installed.
The shop also had a new Cobb tune file downloaded.

Seems to be fine now. Will keep logging the miles.

Ditto, glad to hear it's nothing serious.

my custom Cobb tune uncovered a bad coil (or plug) for cylinder 4, but it only missfired in 4th or 5th gear at higher RPM. Changed out the plugs and coils and haven't had a problem since...

Blk04996tt is an unknown quantity at this point
Good to hear nothing major... Curious though, if the plugs were so fouled with only 5k miles,, didn't you notice any signs e.g. sluggish, misses, gas smell!, black soot on bumper/exhaust etc? Shouldn't the Cobb gauges or data logs capture something?

I did not notice anything prior to the check engine light coming on & miss firing.

It just kept getting worse over time. Illl check the data logging.
