If the Tran was rebuilt, it is possible to put 5th and 6rh gear set in the transmissions backwards. Literally happened to a friend of mine and just got it torn apart again and switch back around.

 

Well that sucks ***. Oh well I'll get it done right and put all this **** behind me.

thanks for looking out. It’s pretty easy to go back and find. I bought it off this site about 2 months ago.

He nor the shop shop that performed the ppi disclosed any of the small things. Like busted vanity mirror, big scratch inner door sill, and I think it was possibly wrecked and repaired. I’m actually sure of it. But it drives true and there doesn’t seem to be any issues related to that. I will find out when I take to my shop though. It’s possible that the previous owner was unaware so I’m not blaming him.
Or he could be like OJ and his reality is off.

 

tranny was rebuilt and the shop mixed 5th and 6th up on the shaft on reassembly.

 

looks like there was shift cable issues last year too....guessing that wasnt the final fix

He may have made an innocent mistake...at least that is his claim and I have no reason not to believe him...simply forgot that 5th was 6th and 6th was 5th...so it was not disclosed....it could happen to anyone and shame on whomever performed the ppi

i find it hard to believe that someone that’s put at least 5000 miles on a car wouldn’t know that gears were switched. But hey who am I to say.
