Turbo Lag cure?

I have tuned Gt-2. Dyon'd with bolt on accessories. Stock turbos and intercoolers.

Thinking about going in deeper as I will keep this car. The Lag on the turbos is incredibly noticeable now car is running higher HP. I've never look into adjustable boost controller and not sure if there is such a thing to address my issue.

Can anyone give me advice on this with brand and info on install and if I need to re- tune my car?

Thanks

It's worse after the tune? If you have a bad tune that might make it worse but otherwise it is what it is unless you want A28's.

i really hated the lag and then sudden thrust of the k24's with the x50 oem re-map on my previous tt. was difficult to anticipate when pushing in tight canyons, as the power surge of k24's isn't linear.. ( this you know ).

i would imagine there must be *some* tweaking that a more modern tune ( i.e. cobb etc ) could provide? but not sure.

my current 96tt with modded 16/24's tuned, with asst bolt on's is always on tap and there is absolutely nothing i would change for my usage. it's literally "instant on" up to 1.3.

k24's just.. "lag". my advice is, talk to sam at by design here. he'll know what can/can't be done with stock k24's.

Feel free to reach out. The car really shouldn’t feel like that. I can walk you through all the steps to get to the bottom of it. Logging pressure test etc. Should feel much better than described. Good luck

s65e90 is infamous around these parts
Buy an NA car or newer variable turbo car. I like the lag, it's what real turbo cars should be.

Some tuned cars seem like they have more lag, but sometimes it is just that they come on harder when they get into the boost so the difference seems greater and people think of it as more lag. I ride 2 stroke motocross bikes, similar sensation but we call it hit and it is a good thing. All about driving styles. I try not to fan the clutch in the Porsche though.

You can do some thing which minimize lag. Upgraded turbos with cnc machined lightwheight compressor wheels would be a good start. Mine start to boost at 2500 RPM k24 with 49,5mm wheels. Upgraded air intake and ram air effect to reduce underpressure/vacuum to the turbos.

Look into switching to a madness tune with air filters directly on the turbos.

Dramatically reduced lag on my X50 and helped the car hold more boost at redline.

good analogy. when i first got used to the power delivery of my k24 car, i likened it to my old 2 stroke dirt bikes once they were "on the pipe".

What bolt-on stuff are you running?
My x-50 with k-24s was much improved with only a tune.
Then I did some ZC turbos and other mods to make it pull from a much lower rpm and have never looked back. Car will easily keep up with LS-whatever out of slow corners at the track now where before they gapped me by 5-6 lengths.

a good k24 is around 1 bar at 3000rpm.....

if not boost leak test and you will see the reason for lag
