I agree with what Gary is saying here. The Viper has everything to lose and nothing to gain except that he beat a 6 cyc. While the porsche has everything to gain he wins he beat v10 car, he loses he lost to a v10 car. Tough situation and a lot of respect for both of them for racing. I look forward to seeing the end result.

I totally disagree. It seems like the highlight of Viper and Vette owners lives is to mod their cars, beat stock Porsches, usually like Boxsters and base 911s. After that, there is great glory in how they beat a "$100K GT2", neglecting the fact that they don't know what they beat and prolly have spent an equal amount of money in mods.

Again, as I like to say, if I'm smart enough to be able to afford $150K cars, then I'm smart enough to buy car rags and know what else is on the market. I wasn't disappointed to learn that in some categories, a stock Viper might edge out my stock Porsche, and in the categories that the Porsche gets the nod, I am fully prepared for the explanation that, for twice the price, my Porsche should win all contests against all Vipers.

in viperalley someone claimed Darius said Alex let off just as the Viper was starting to stretch his legs.. then Craig says both say they let off due to the unsafe conditions. That comment made the Viper owners say it's a win for the Viper..

Maybe that should be cleared up before those jokers jump to their 1/4miler conclusions... until the rematch rematch anyway with conclusive results.

those damn vipers def are fast cars... it seems so many of them easily makes over 1000 hp with a twin turbo setup... any idea of HP on each car?

That's the Viper, you can tell fromt he turbo's and the interior lol, i didnt even notice at first because i thought the RX7 had a monsterous single turbo, had no idea it was an LS1 swapped RX7

 

Alex lost and let off all 3 times. Dairus' Viper pulled on him hard.

 

I just watched the video that Darius posted on the Viper board racing against me on Saturday night. We tried to race about a dozen times, each time we had traction issues. The Video in question shows several runs from HIS point of view. I one particular run, I hooked in 3rd gear and started to pull the Viper, then powershifted into 4h and lost traction (if you listen to the video, you can hear this!!). At that point I HAD TO LIFT or risk wrecking my car (this is where the Viper started to gain). I am confindent that If I had traction in 4th, I would have continued to pull away....I then adjusted my boost down to 1.5bar where I was getting traction and raced the RX-7 several times. I also have several Videos where it shows the Porsche pulling away from the Viper (here the tables are reveresed, he said that he had traction issues)....however we agreed (apparently Darius forgot about this!!) not to post any video untill we had a opportunity to run our cars on a clear day with plenty of traction. That way there are no excuses and we would not start drama on the two boards about what occured but rather have clear video (and hopefully a hand shake acknowledging the winner) that we could post on the two boards. This is suppose to take place next week when Darius gets his Drag Radials. The deal was to run from a 40mph roll on.

I am disapointed in Darius for not living up to his hand shake to keep all Videos Private until we raced next time. On the other hand I can see his EGO posting the videos....I just hope he follows through on the rest of our deal and shown up next weekend..

 

So if he used the videos against you with you not having traction, then show the ones where you pull on him and say the same shlt, that's a low blow!
